Stories of Impact
A milestone moment in the 10-year history of The Global Ambassadors Program, made possible by a Vital Voices partnership with Bank of America, has been achieved. The mentoring program that brings together women business leaders from around the world for a week of intensive mentoring sessions is proud to announce that Irish businesswoman Mairead Mackle, MBE, founder & CEO of Tarasis Enterprises, is the first-ever mentee to come back as a mentor, also known as a “Global Ambassador.”
After participating in the 2019 program in Paris, Mackle says her business grew 400 percent after applying the strategies she learned as a mentee of Heineken USA’s former Chief Legal Officer Julie Kinch. Mackle put those strategies to work at her suite of businesses over the past two and a half years, which helped her enterprises thrive despite challenges brought on by the pandemic.
In 2021, Mackle received the distinguished Member of the Order of the British Empire honor from Queen Elizabeth II, awarded to individuals for outstanding achievements or service to the community. Mackle, a mother of seven, is author and curator of the book Evolve: Voices of Leadership. She will mentor Ukrainian businesswoman Zoya Lytvyn, founder of Osvitoria, an education nonprofit focused on educating children affected by the ongoing war.
The 2022 Global Ambassadors Program kicked off Monday, Oct. 17 in Washington, D.C. at the Vital Voices Global Headquarters for Women’s Leadership—the world’s first global embassy for women.
