After a recap this morning from Constantinos on social networking and teamwork for advocacy planning with Sherry, our partners at Foundation for the Future led the Policy Advocates group in “SWOT” analyses (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) to strengthen and clarify their advocacy issues.  The country teams spent the morning analyzing their issues and brainstorming ideas and strategies for their campaigns.

During the afternoon session, Professors Fatima Sadiqi and Moha Ennaji from the University of Fez discussed the 2004 advocacy campaign to pass the new Moudawana (Family Code) in Morocco.  The participants had a lively discussion about advocacy strategies and ways to promote greater rights for women in each of the MENA countries.

The teams finished the afternoon working on their advocacy plans, incorporating their social media strategies and SWOT analyses into an overall advocacy framework.
