Voices of Resilience: A Conversation with Susana Muhamad
April 2020 – VVEngage Fellow, Bogota City Councillor and climate activist Susana Muhamad discussed the ways that COVID-19 is forcing us all to confront what are really priorities – water, food and the love of our families – and ways we can focus on those priorities to use fewer resources during our day-to-day lives and ways leadership can build more resilient communities as we continue to face emergencies.
Susana joined VV’s Alyse Nelson to dissect Susan’s expectation that the 21st century will be characterized by emergencies as climate changes exacerbates the pandemics, natural disasters and other issues so that the effects impact more people. Susanna also discussed how coronavirus and the the impending crises brought on by climate change will necessitate leaders that prioritize resilience in their communities.
