It’s been 15 years since the passage of the United Nations Security Council resolution 1325, and an unsettling reality remains to this day. Violence is still one of the greatest threats to global peace and security, and it disproportionately affects women and girls.

Much has been written about the progress of 1325, and we’re reminded of Vital Voices Global Leadership Network member Inez McCormack’s important contribution to ensuring women and marginalized populations are included in peace negotiations during times of war and conflict.
