Kah Walla is a Political Leader, Entrepreneur and Activist from Cameroon.
She is the founder and CEO of STRATEGIES!, a 26-year-old consulting firm offering services in leadership, strategy and organizational development to multinational companies and development organizations on 5 continents.
STRATEGIES! makes over 95% of its turnover outside Cameroon from its headquarters in Douala and its registered office in the United States. STRATEGIES! provides support to international organizations and governments in strengthening national frameworks, translating international policies into national frameworks, building capacities of policymakers, providing advisory services to executives, reinforcing synergy between stakeholders, increasing citizens’ participation and mainstreaming gender into policies.
Kah Walla is the current president of the Cameroon People’s Party (CPP) which she joined in 2010. In 2011, she became the first woman to ever run for the office of President of the Republic of Cameroon. For over 20 years, she has worked with political activists and actors of civil society in Cameroon and Africa at the micro, meso and macro levels. She is today one of the key leaders building the future of her country, Cameroon and her continent, Africa.
Her focus is on political transitions that enable countries to go from decades of autocratic rule towards governance that is democratic, inclusive and equitable in the distribution of resources and access to opportunity. Developing models that will enable citizens who have been deprived of their rights for decades to go through a “healing’ process that enables them to redefine citizenship, step into their power and exercise both their rights and duties within a democratic framework that takes into account their particular history and culture.
Kah’s exceptional leadership and her quest for progress in Cameroon and Africa has earned her several international recognitions: Vital Voices Global Leadership Vanguard Award (2015), DVF Award (2014), named one of 150 women who shake the world by Newsweek and Daily Beast (2011) and one of Africa’s 100 most influential leaders by New African Magazine (2011).
