Spouzhmai Akberzai

Spouzhmai Akberzai is the Senior Program Coordinator on Global Network and Regional Engagement team at Vital Voices. In this role she works with Afghanistan Urgent Assistance Fund and Afghanistan Crisis Response Team.

Prior to Vital Voices, Spouzhmai worked with CCDA, Migration and Refugee Services. She holds BA (Hons) Political Science and MSc in Politics and International Relations from University of Delhi, India. Spouzhmai completed fellowship (2021- 2022) with International Coalition of Sites of Conscience (ICSC) on Global initiative on Justice, Truth and Reconciliation focusing on feminist understanding of violence in South Asian context. In 2021, she completed certification in Women, Peace and Security and is an active member of Afghan Women’s Network- leading Organization advocating for women’s rights and empowerment. She is Scholarship recipient of Ph.D. in International Relations (2018) at South Asian University, established by SAARC in New Delhi, India.
