On March 8th, join us and thousands of women in the Vital Voices Global Leadership Network to celebrate International Women’s Day with our signature event-the Global Mentoring Walk. A longstanding Vital Voices tradition, these walks connect women leaders and spark a movement to promote the rising generation through mentorship. Thanks to the incredible partnership of our network members, this year 72 Mentoring Walks will take place in over 51countries*-a record breaking number to date!
International Women’s Day recognizes women’s contribution to global progress and reminds us of the work that remains to advance women and communities everywhere. It is the ideal opportunity to demonstrate the power of women’s leadership and unite women in support of other women.
Across cultures and generations, we have seen that women leaders have a natural inclination to share talent, experience, wisdom and power. Through the Vital Voices Global Mentoring Walk, mentors and mentees will come together to walk in their towns and cities, sharing challenges and solutions and forming supportive bonds that foster growth, confidence and leadership. Each year our walks grow in numbers and in impact – building momentum for a movement of women paying it forward to support other women.
“The walk presented an opportunity to get the conversation started that needed to be started so long ago. Our company philosophy is based on growth and development of people and we saw this as the perfect opportunity to inspire change and get others involved in the growth and development of our future generation.” – Thecla Deterville, 2014 Flag Bearer, Castries, St. Lucia
Mentoring Walks will be taking place in nearly every corner of the globe to commemorate International Women’s Day. See if there is one in your hometown:
