Dear Friends,

I am proud to announce that Vital Voices is expanding our partnership with the Women in the World Foundation. Building on the success of the Women in the World Summits, the Women in the World Foundation was launched in Fall 2011 to spotlight solutions and drive support for women of impact and nonprofit organizations around the world. Vital Voices has been one of their solutions partners since day one and we have partnered to channel support to emerging women leaders in our network, including Dr. Hawa Abdi of Somalia and Malala Yousafzai of Pakistan.

Through this expanded partnership and a grant of $650,000 to Vital Voices, the Women in the World Foundation’s initiatives will now be housed here to continue the mission of the Foundation, including the Women of Impact Awards and the Women in the World on Campus initiative. Additionally, through this grant we will leverage digital technology and storytelling to advance emerging women leaders in our network and around the world.

We are incredibly grateful to Tina Brown for her support and confidence in Vital Voices. This morning while announcing our expanded partnership on MSNBC’s Morning Joe she heralded Vital Voices as “the gold standard” of global women’s organizations. We know firsthand how committed Tina is to making the world a better place for women and girls, and through her media platform no one has exposed the power of women’s leadership around the world quite like she has.

We look forward to this next chapter of our partnership.

Best,

Alyse
