“We need leaders with the conviction to create change, and courageous leadership that promotes justice, protects peace and speaks truth to power.”

For the first time in three years, Vital Voices is gathering in person for our annual Global Leadership Awards to honor women who are challenging the status quo, defying norms and disrupting systems. The event will take place at  the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington, DC on November 9th.

As we plan our evening, we are reminded of all the trailblazers we’ve worked with for the past 25 years.

Meet Rouba Mhaissen is an activist who promotes locally-led solutions in Syrian refugee and host communities across Europe and the Middle East.
