In the session on climate justice for women and girls at the 2nd Annual Vital Voices Festival, Ambassador Patricia Espinosa, the former Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) spoke about the ongoing work that must be done to support women’s rights, the marginalization of indigenous women, and how she is advising Vital Voices on a strategy for climate change.

“It is not only that women are disproportionately affected by climate change, they are also the providers of solutions,” said Espinosa in a conversation moderated by Zainab Salbi, cofounder of Daughters for Earth, founder of Women for Women International and a vital voices board member.
