Ni Luh Pertami

Niluh’ s passion for shoes began as a child. Today she is a worldclass shoe designer and manufacturer, with celebrity clients like Julia Roberts and supermodel Gisele Bundchen wearing her handcrafted shoes and heels.

At the age of 19, Niluh set out for the capital to study-a brave step for a girl from Kintamani, a small village in Bali. The lessons she learned working her space in the market while attending school as a child served Niluh well in Jakarta. She worked for an international textiles firm during the day and took business school at Gunadarma University. Niluh pursued her professional career initially in 1995 as a Telephone Operator and Receptionist at PT. Primatek Multindo, a Swiss owned Textile Machinery Company. In 1996, she worked at CIC Bank as Personal Assistant to the Representative. In 2000, she started her first sales position at PT. Gudang Mas Satria as Account Excecutive. Her last position in Jakarta was as an Account Manager at PT. Mitra Integrasi Komputindo, after which she moved to Bali to join Paul Ropp, an American high fashion company, as its Marketing Director and expanded its retail and international sales operations. In 2003, due to a health problem, she decided to quit her career and start her endeavor to gather the Indonesian shoe artisan and establish her own label, Nilou, rebranded in 2008 as Niluh Djelantik.
