Liron Peleg-Hadomi is the coordinator of Lead Haifa, the leadership program at the Haifa Council of Volunteers Organization that was developed in conjunction with the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Boston and the Israeli NGO, SHATIL. Through Lead Haifa, Liron engages leaders from the private sector, civil society and the Haifa municipality on issues of personal development, joint learning and various fields of social change.

Liron began reaching across the lines that divide when she was a student, working for the organization, Ossim Shalom (Social Workers for Peace). Over the last 10 years, she has worked with NGOs that deal with questions of coexistence between Jews and Arabs in Israel, community work, community development, leadership development and networks.

From 2005 to 2008, she was co-director of the Galilead Program, developing Jewish-Arab leadership in the Galilee. The organization developed a unique two-year training program in cooperation with Carnegie Mellon University’ s business school in Pittsburgh. Participants developed social projects to benefit residents of the Galilee.

Since 2005, Liron has served as a supervisor of students doing community work at Tel Hai College. She teaches a course for 16 social work students on the topic of community work and oversees eight community projects in the field. In 2009, she began working with students from Haifa University.

Liron was a participant in the 2007 Vital Voices Peace and Prosperity program in Northern Ireland. She holds a bachelor’ s degree in social work from Tel Hai College and a master’ s in community work from the University of Haifa.
