Alex Prout is a national leader and advocate against gender based violence and a victims rights advocate. Following the assault of his daughter at her high school, he has spent the past four years speaking out on behalf of women and girls, encouraging victims to shatter the silence surrounding sexual abuse and holding complicit institutions accountable.

Alex, based in New York, is Executive Vice President and Head of International Advisory Services for Nuveen, a leading global asset management firm, and is responsible for developing Nuveen’ s business growth outside of the United States. Alex joined Nuveen in 2019 with more than 30 years of financial industry experience and has spent over 20 years living overseas building and running asset management businesses.

Before his appointment, Alex was most recently Head of Asia Pacific for DWS, a branch of Deutsche Bank, responsible for the development and growth of Asia Pacific. Prior to that, he worked at Morgan Stanley Investment Management, Invesco and Merrill Lynch. Alex is a well-respected asset management veteran in the industry with strong global experience.

Alex is also the founding chair of the Vital Voices Solidarity Council.
