Innovation Advisor, Former Dubai Government

Vera is an innovation advisor for governments and the private sector, a female empowerment supporter, and a social impact advocate. She is a member of the founding team for the Dubai Future Accelerators, an initiative launched by the Dubai Government to accelerate innovation by pairing the world’s most exciting technology companies with leading government departments to create transformational solutions with a global impact. She was previously the head of Global Communications and Senior Liaision Officer for Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement of the Dubai Future Foundation, a core entity of the Dubai Government that was launched by the office of the Prime Minister of the UAE to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Dubai through innovation. Before joining the Dubai Government, Vera set up the UAE chapter of Techfugees, a social enterprise mobilizing the international tech community to respond to the refugee situation.

Prior to that, Vera was the Founder and Managing Director of a tech startup in the Middle East. Before her career in the tech and innovation world, Vera completed her MSc at the London School of Economics and worked as a political consultant in Brussels. Prior to that, Vera was a professional Argentine Tango dancer, and became a certified Yoga teacher five years ago. Vera has lived in 10 countries and is fluent in five languages.

 

She served as a Mentor in the Global Ambassadors Program with Vital Voices in Los Angeles in 2017.

She was selected as a Fellow for the first VV Engage Cohort.
