Valery Salas Flores is a sustainability consultant and climate advocate from Peru with over a decade of experience in international climate policy and youth engagement. She is currently pursuing an MSc in Sustainability, Enterprise, and the Environment at the University of Oxford, where her research focuses on just transitions, NDCs, non-state actors’ engagement and inclusive finance for climate resilience. Valery has been a young delegate at COP24, COP26, COP27, and COP28, and served on the Global Coordination Team of YOUNGO, the official youth constituency of the UNFCCC. Through her leadership roles with the Global Shapers Community and the C40 Youth Hub, she has supported green jobs initiatives, capacity building, and regional youth mobilisation in Latin America.
Her work includes consulting for McKinsey & Company and supporting UN agencies such as UNICEF and UNFPA in developing youth-inclusive climate and development policies. Valery holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from PUCP and is committed to bridging grassroots action with global decision-making spaces.
