Focus Areas

TBN Foundation has the mission of contributing in the construction of more resilient and fair communities, through the implementation of participatory ecological knowledge and risk management. It is youth-led, and focuses on creating intergenerational processes and strengthening community relationships to ensure long-lasting effects on local realities. They currently work with mining communities on possible ways to create a fair and sustainable transition to more environmentally coherent livelihoods.

As an ecologist, Valentina Bello has worked in governmental institutions managing Environmental Infrastructure, ecological restoration and territory planning for conservation and sustainable use in rural contexts. She has also worked with campesino and indigenous communities on conflict resolution, intergenerational exchange and sustainable planning. Currently, Bello works as researcher on illegal mining and deforestation in Paramos and the Amazon, specially related with international cooperation to reduce environmental crimes.
