Thinley is the CEO of Bhutan Tours and Travels in Bhutan. Bhutan Tours and Travels creates social impact and personal transformation for their travelers through innovative journeys and experiences by bringing people and ideas together. Bhutan is one of the most sought after international tourist destinations globally and tourism is the second largest industry, with much to offer to both tourists and Bhutanese. Thinley is driven to leverage the tourism sector to achieve social and environmental good, while also creating economic opportunities. Driven by their belief in the power of discovery through travel, the company designs and curates spiritual and wellness, environment, adventure, leadership, and service and giving journeys. Thinley is dedicated to creating meaningful trips for her clients that enable self-discovery and an exploration of the senses, mind and the heart that advance cross-cultural understanding between people of different backgrounds, peace and prosperity. Her company sees themselves as a ‘bridge’ to connect, facilitate, empower and provide a platform for individuals and organizations to be their best selves through collaboration and partnerships. In addition to the curated journeys, Bhutan Tours and Travels also provides consultancy services focused on Bhutan’s culture and tourist attractions for a variety of for-profit and non-profit organizations. Thinley holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Beloit College and a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Hawaii. She has also participated as an Asian and African Feminist Activist Fellow within the Global Empowerment Program at Ewha Women’s University and as a Draper Hills Fellow at the Center for Democracy, Development and Rule of Law at Stanford University. She is the Founding Curator for Global Shapers Community Thimphu of the World Economic Forum.
What Thinley hopes to gain from the VV GROW Fellowship:
Thinley is excited about the opportunity that the program offers to connect, grow and learn more about business in practical terms. She is looking forward to further developing her business’ strategic plan and hopes to establish new partnerships to grow her business in innovative ways. She hopes to collaborate with fellows working in the impact space, as well as to learn from their experiences. Thinley also hopes to learn more about effective digital marketing and other forms of marketing in the impact travel sector.

Thinley can offer her experiences, lessons and strategies to other fellows, in particular in the areas of education, public policy, diplomacy, government, business, law, mentoring and startups. She is also open to fostering connections within her network.
