Emmy Award-winning Producer/Director Tani Ikeda creates groundbreaking narrative, documentary, and immersive projects centering women and girls of color. She won a Daytime Emmy in 2017 for Wonder Women, executive produced and directed the Black Lives Matter YouTube Original series Resist, and received the 2022 Tribeca X Award for Emerging Radiance, a mixed reality experience. Based in Los Angeles and originally from Seattle, Tani leads Immediate Justice Productions, a nonprofit and production company that has mentored over 20,000 teenage girls and non-binary youth across the U.S., China, Uganda, and India.
A Sundance Fellow and SFFILM Rainin Grantee, she is also an alum of Film Independent’s Project Involve. Tani has lectured at USC, Pomona, CalArts, University of Utah, and University of Oregon, and was Stanford’s Artist-In-Residence in Fall 2018. She holds a B.A. in Film and Television Production from the USC School of Cinematic.
