Tage Rita Takhe is a founder and CEO of Lambu Subu Food and Beverages which made the first kiwi wine brand (Naara Aaba) in India in the year 2017.

This innovative idea started with a pressing local problem faced by 500 kiwi farmers of Ziro Valley who could not sell their fresh produce due to lack of buyers, bad road infrastructure, cold storage, etc. Since the winery was set up, there has been a renewed movement for growing kiwi fruit in the region.

Rita’s noble initiative has been well accepted and recognized by the Govt of India, the local community, as well as globally. Her venture has been been case studied (socioeconomic impact on the local community) by the most reputed management institute of India, IIM Shillong (Indian Institute of Management), and published by the global publishing house IVEY Business Foundation, which has a presence in 136 countries across the globe.

Rita was also conferred the Nari Shakti Puraskar award in the year 2022 (the highest civilian award in India for women empowerment) by the Ministry of Women and Child Development Govt of India. She was also given the Women Transforming India award by Niti Aayog (Planning Commission of India) in collaboration with the United Nations. Most notably she is a proud alumni of the Fortune-US Department of State Global Women’s Mentoring Partnership 2022.

With the VVGF program, Rita wants to extend her network in a global platform of women leaders to expand and forge partnerships to continue her work in the best possible ways.
