Spozhmai Wardak was most recently head of Afghan women (Southwest provinces) Shora. She was working as Deputy Policy and Plan Minister with the Ministry of Women’s Affairs from February 2015 until February 2021. There she was doing research and developing guidelines, administrative and technical policies and procedures for the whole Ministry of Women’s Affairs.

Previously, Spozhmai worked with USAID, Chemonics International, Save the Children USA and Save the children International in different sectors during 12 years. She has already actively participated and officially represented Afghanistan in many countries like Thailand, Cambodia, Pakistan, USA, Nepal, India, Indonesia, Swiss, Dubai and Saudi Arabia. These representation includes but not limited to the trainings, workshops, international events and committees like CSW and CEDAW commissions.

Spozhmai completed her high school education at Zarghoneh High School. She successfully completed the mathematics department of this university Faculty since in 1984. From 2018 – 2019, she successfully completed the Master’s program in Gender and Women’s Studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Kabul University.
