Sonia Umulinga is the CEO of Plasticraft Ltd, a creative space in Rwanda. Sonia’s vision is for Plasticraft to become Africa’s largest creative hub that enhances and promotes handmade skills to produce outstanding artistic products that fulfill customer satisfaction. Additionally, she hopes to add sustainable value to spaces locally, regionally, and globally by using recycled, eco-friendly artistic products.
Sonia is dedicated to community engagements, as she currently leads the climate activism project “Greenwards Rwanda.” She is also a member of the Circular Economy Hub at Norskenn Kigali House. Sonia is on the board of directors establishing GS1 Rwanda.
Recently, Sonia has been selected among the top 70 innovators who presented their innovations at the African Union Action Innovation Hub during the Africa Climate Summit 2023. Sonia won the Accelerate Africa Business Pitch Competition in 2022 and the Emerge Her Leadership and Business Competition in 2023.
