Sobita Gautam is a Member of the House of Representatives in Nepal, elected in 2022 from Kathmandu-2 as the youngest directly elected federal lawmaker. A lawyer by training, she serves on the Law, Justice, and Human Rights Committee and is a founding central committee member of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, representing a bold new generation of political leadership focused on reform, transparency, and citizen empowerment.

In 2025, she was elected to the Health Committee of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), where she advocates for global health equity and inclusive policy frameworks. Prior to her political journey, Sobita was a nationally recognized television presenter, known for hosting a public health program that brought expert knowledge to the grassroots.

With over a decade of experience in youth activism, civic engagement, and legal advocacy, she continues to work across sectors linking governance, health, climate justice, and human rights to build a more just and accountable state.
