Sirjana Kafle is a Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) Consultant for Shakti Samuha, where she conducts baseline surveys on CSEC in Kathmandu Valley, Nepal. With her unwavering passion for issues related to development and human rights, Ms. Kafle immersed herself in the NGO world upon the completion of her master’s degree from Tribhuvan University in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Throughout her career she has gained extensive experience serving as a development worker at various INGO/NGOs, including United Nations Development Program (UNDP), United Nations Fund for Women (UNIFEM), Britain Nepal Medical Trust (BNMT), U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Plan International, and Action-Aid. While working as a development worker, she was involved in research and training activities related to Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC), gender, human trafficking, migration and human rights. Some of her major research works centered on the issue of HIV/AIDS in Nepal. Ms. Kafle has published articles on many of the aforementioned issues and has prepared community booklets to raise awareness about the issues. Most notably, she conducted a Study on the Condition of Slavery Among Women and Girls Employed in the Restaurants and Massage Parlors of Kathmandu Valley.
