Sibongile Mthimunye

Sibongile V. Mthimunye is the founder and CEO of BWGL Group Pty Ltd, an eco-friendly hygiene and cleaning services business based in South Africa. Her role is to provide strategic, financial, and operational leadership for the company. BWGL Group Pty Ltd.’s vision is to be a leading sustainable, eco-friendly hygiene and cleaning business in the continent, that empowers women and the youth from underserved communities. Their mission is to provide services and products that surpass their client’s expectations. BWGL Group Pty Ltd distributes and sells eco-friendly cleaning products to commercial companies, households, holiday venues, etc. Their product range consists of the following: dishwashing liquid, tile, and grout solution, grill and hood solution, and total surface care solution. They support three U.N. Sustainable Development Goals, namely: Goal 1, “No Poverty”, Goal 6, “Clean Water and Sanitation” and Goal 5, “Gender Equality.” These goals speak to the company’s focus on using less water in their products, equal employment of women, and ensuring that they contribute to the eradication of poverty in their communities.

Sibongile has 23 years of experience within both the development and corporate sectors. She is very passionate about the empowerment and uplifting of women and the youth in her country, as well as the creation of employment opportunities and making a difference in her country.

She holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences from the University of the Witwatersrand, a master’s diploma in HR Management from the University of Johannesburg (formerly RAU), and a master’s in Business Administration from Regent Business School.
