Founder and CEO, Strawcture ECO
Shriti is the Founder and CEO of Strawcture Eco, a green building material and service company that manufactures bio-based drywall, flooring, and ceiling panels. Strawcture Eco’s panels are made from renewable natural fibers and non-formaldehyde-based resin, formulated from raw materials, such as bagasse, wheat straw, and rice husk. Their panels serve as a sustainable alternative to cement, brick, engineered wood and plasterboard. By using raw materials, Strawcture Eco is helping to reduce the 140 million tons of agricultural-fiber that goes to waste each year in India. In the last two years they have sequestered 500 tons of carbon, with a goal of reducing 50% of India’s embodied carbon in the building sector by 2050. Shriti holds a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering from Uttar Pradesh Technical University and a Masters in Construction Management from New York University. Her expertise is in strategic planning, business development, and designing. Shriti is a 2020 Echoing Green Fellow and a 2020 Acumen Fellow. She belongs to the Indian Women Social Entrepreneur Network (IWSEN), Aspen Leadership Network, leap.club network, and the Calcutta Incubation Network.
