Shivani Mehta is the Co-Founder of Daakroom, a Delhi-based enterprise dedicated to reviving tangibility and the art of handwritten communication in the digital age. Daakroom’s mission is to reconnect people with the joy of physical writing, emphasizing its cognitive, emotional, and mental health benefits. Launched in 2015, Daakroom has reached over 10 lakh students, making letter writing a significant part of their lives. The business has worked with organizations like the Ministry of Culture, Department of Posts, Government of Odisha and JK Paper Ltd. Its initiatives focus on creating meaningful interactions, offering services such as driving marketing campaigns & events, educational workshops and products, and a flagship letter-writing carnival. Shivani’s work is aligned with UN SDG 4 (Quality Education), as Daakroom’s educational programs encourage creativity, socio-emotional learning & literacy in schools across India.
A graduate of the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad Shivani’s background in design has been instrumental in shaping Daakroom’s unique approach. Her passion for human connection, preserving the culture of writing, and promoting art drives her. She believes in the power of written words and tangibility to create lasting memories and strengthen personal relationships in a fast-paced digital world.
