Shabakie Fernandes is the President of Sarauniya International Development Organization (SIDO), an established social impact organization working to eliminate menstrual poverty and improve healthcare access for women and girls in underserved communities in Ghana. Through partnerships with schools, clinics, health workers, and community leaders, SIDO provides menstrual health education, menstrual products, and essential medical supplies while addressing stigma, school absenteeism, and barriers to dignity and well-being.

Fernandes leads SIDO’s strategic planning, partnership development, resource mobilization, and community engagement. Her leadership experience spans extensive interfaith advisory and community development, gender equality, community health, education, and sustainable development, with a strong emphasis on locally led solutions that strengthen women, girls, and frontline institutions in Africa and the Caribbean.
