Sarah Msambira is the Director of Agriculture at Small Farm Cities Africa, a social impact startup pioneering affordable, job-creating agricultural communities in Malawi. By integrating commercial drip-irrigated greenhouses, open-field horticulture, and soil restoring agroforestry, with affordable green housing and community infrastructure, Small Farm Cities is creating pathways to income generation and home ownership for rural families.

An agronomist by training, Sarah has led the development of 28 commercial greenhouses, trained over 2,000 students and farmers, and facilitated the production of more than 800 tons of fresh produce. She leads a team of over 50 agronomists, and her leadership has supported 42 families in launching profitable agribusinesses, underscoring her commitment to advancing food security and financial stability in rural communities.

“As a visionary leader, I am committed to being proximate to the problems I hope to solve with communities. This means living in rural communities and working with families to use agriculture as a way to improve their homes, incomes, food security, and soil quality.”
