Samira Negm

Samira Negm is the CTO at Shunah where she creates the technical vision for the company’s products and is responsible for product strategy and initiatives to support the business’s overall goals. Shunah is an Egyptian Agritech startup focusing on optimizing the agricultural supply chain, primarily focusing on dry crops (cereals, pulses, grains) and agri-inputs (seeds, fertilizers, etc.). Samira’s goals are to optimize the supply chain from farm to processor by eliminating inefficiencies, redesign the responsibilities of stakeholders to ensure fair distribution of margins, and disrupt the status quo of farmers making the least profit in the agricultural cycle, which consequently affects food security in Egypt. Shunah supports SDG 12, Sustainable Consumption & Production; SDG 13, Climate Action; SDG 9, Industry Innovation; SDG 8, Decent Work and Economic Growth; and SDG 3, Good Health and Well-being. One of Samira’s career achievements is her work on Raye7, a culturally sensitive carpooling app that was the first to address cultural challenges in the region that were preventing people from utilizing their resources to have an efficient, safe, and affordable commute. The app was awarded the second-best mobile startup in MWC Barcelona and the prestigious Cartier Women’s Initiative Award.  Samira holds an MBA from Agora Business School, a BSc in Computer and Systems Engineering from Ain Shams University, has completed the INSEAD Social Entrepreneurship Program, holds a certificate in Wisdom Integrated Executive Coaching from LCE, holds a Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma Green Belt from Quality America and a Train the Trainer certification from RITI.
