Reethika Kuruvilla is a dynamic social entrepreneur and media expert dedicated to transforming the lives of underprivileged children. With a deep-rooted passion for early childhood education, she has spent over two decades championing the rights and potential of young learners. As the Founder and Managing Trustee of The Ashoka Tree, Reethika has spearheaded initiatives impacting the lives of over 80,000 children across five states in India. Established with the vision of ensuring every child across the country has the opportunity to read, play, and smile, The Ashoka Tree focuses on improving facilities, teaching aids, and infrastructure in unaided play schools across India as well as ensuring their mothers and women from the locality have a safe space to connect and reach out for help when needed. The Ashoka Tree works towards equal opportunities for children living with disabilities, promoting the need for equal rights for children with quality education, irrespective of gender or ability, to go to school. With certifications in Children’s Rights and Autism Spectrum Disorder, as well as over two decades of volunteer work with children with disabilities, working with The Ashoka Tree remains one of Reethika’s greatest challenges, and yet, her greatest joy.
