Rebecca Bakare is the founder and director of Mama’s Creation Foods, a social enterprise that connects African women farmers to lucrative markets for indigenous medicinal herbs and nutrient-dense ingredients. Before her entrepreneurial journey, Ms. Bakare worked in the non-profit sector, where she honed her interest in using business as a force for good. At Ashoka, she led the development of a youth change-making program and mobilized resources to establish women’s economic empowerment initiatives in the U.S. and sub-Saharan Africa. She holds a B.A. in Economics from Washington and Lee University and will pursue an MBA as a Forte Fellow at Duke University in July 2024.
