Focus Areas
Rachell Dumas is a maternal health advocate, registered nurse, and founder of A Light After Nine, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting families impacted by pregnancy loss, infertility, and maternal trauma. She is developing a nurse-led patient advocacy app to help patients and families navigate healthcare systems and advocate for safe, equitable care.
Her work is deeply informed by her personal journey through nine pregnancy losses and the birth of her miracle son. Dumas has collaborated with the Georgia Department of Public Health, the National Perinatal Task Force, and has spoken at the Georgia State Capitol and Capitol Hill to push for systemic maternal health reform. Her advocacy has been featured in national outlets including Women’s Health, NPR, and The Bump.
