Focus Areas
Namrata Sharma is a passionate social entrepreneur and the Founder of Signature Foundation – Ek Badalti Soch, a non-profit organization working at the grassroots level to empower underprivileged communities in rural Maharashtra through skill-based education, women’s empowerment, primary healthcare, and sustainable development.
Under her leadership, the foundation has established transformative projects such as Kamal Vidyalaya, a skill-integrated school for tribal children; Savitri Skill Shala, a vocational training center for women and dropouts; and Vatsalya Clinic, a free rural health initiative. She also manages a Gaushala (Cowshed), promoting compassionate care for cows and ecological practices like biogas, composting, and organic farming.
Namrata began her journey by offering scholarships to deserving students and has since built a model of education that blends academics with life skills, environmental consciousness, and dignity of labor. Her work has impacted hundreds of families in tribal Karjat and beyond. She believes in hands-on leadership, inclusive learning, and building systems that are self-sustaining and rooted in local realities.
Her efforts have been recognized with awards such as the Woman of Substance – Exceptional Innovator in Education, WEICI Gaurav Samman Puraskar, and the Maharashtra Nari Ratna Award. Namrata now seeks to expand her impact, deepen her leadership journey, and collaborate with global changemakers through the Vital Voices Fellowship.
“As a visionary, I strive to create a world where every child, regardless of background, has access to meaningful education, every woman has the tools to build her own identity, and every village becomes a self-sustained model of dignity, learning, and compassion.”
