Dr. Mukta Sachdev is the medical director of MS clinical research Pvt Ltd, a state-of-the-art dermatology cutaneous research and testing facility in India. MS Clinical Research (MSCR) has conducted over 300 end-to-end trials for leading international cosmeceutical, pharmaceutical and laser manufacturers. Their facility tests products for skin of color for local and international cosmetic and skin care markets. Tests also include in vitro and in Viboon tests and cover the entire range of personal and professional skin and hair care products worldwide. MS Clinical Research has two primary areas of activities, the clinic and research parts of the business. The clinic part of the business is a dermatological clinic and the research business does studies on products out in the market. The company specializes in skin evaluation, hair and scalp evaluation, dental evaluation, skin sensitivity evaluation and imaging evaluation. MS Clinical Research’s motto from the very beginning has been to incorporate factual knowledge into practice and to provide ethical, accurate and unbiased clinical data in ‘Skin of Color’ to further strengthen one’s belief in evidence-based medicine. Mukta is a clinical and aesthetic dermatologist and a global leader for skin of color involved in dermatology clinical research, she has a keen interest in contemporary research. MS Clinical Research has won the 2013 Stevie Business Award for Female Innovator of the Year and has also received WEConnect International Certification. Mukta’s company has also received first place in the Business Plan competition held by 10,000 Women for the first Bangalore cohort. Mukta is currently also the Medical Director MSCR and Consultant Dermatologist at Manipal hospital. She has expertise in strategic planning, business management and leadership. Mukta has received an MBBS MS from Ramaiah Medical College and an MD in Dermatology at Command Hospital Air Force Bangalore. She has also gained a DPD, Dip Derm and DD.

What Mukta hopes to gain from the VV GROW Fellowship: Mukta hopes to increase her skills in leadership, financial planning, management planning, social media and networking. She is also looking forward to interacting and learning from other fellows.

What Mukta can offer other fellows: Mukta can share her experiences with having worked and lived in many different countries, as well as her experiences in running a start-up e-commerce business in India. She also runs a charitable clinic in India’s Yoga capital, Rishikesh and is enthusiastic about sharing and organizing this experience for any fellows interested.
