Focus Areas
Monisola Aiyekusehin is the Founder of Betharbel Foundation, a grassroots nonprofit dedicated to educating and empowering children and families displaced by conflict in Nigeria. The foundation runs a free elementary school within the Area 1 IDP camp in Abuja, providing over 250 children with access to daily learning, nutritious meals, and emotional support. Betharbel also offers digital skills training for displaced youth, especially girls, creating pathways to healing, independence, and opportunity.
With over seven years of experience in nonprofit leadership and education advocacy, Monisola brings compassion, strategy, and lived experience to her work. A survivor of domestic violence and a single mom of five, she uses her voice and platform including the Empowering Voices Podcast to amplify stories of resilience and recovery. She holds a Master’s in International Relations and is an alumna of Harvard Business School Online.
