Mimoza is a Member of Parliament in Kosovo, serving as the chairwoman of the Green Caucus Group. She was previously the Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo and Minister of Commerce and Industry, as well as the Mayor of Gjakova, becoming the first female mayor in Kosovo’s history.

During the Kosovo war, Mimoza was a refugee in Macedonia and used her time there to report on the refugee situation for NPR. She was also involved with Doctors Without Borders and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe and later worked for the World Bank and USAID to support Kosovar businesses.

Mimoza graduated from the University of Prishtina with a degree in Management and Information Systems and completed her Masters’ Degree at the University of Colorado and Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.
