Michele Fox-Bell

Michele Fox-Bell is the co-founder and creative director of Fox & Bell Goldsmiths, based in Athlone, Ireland. Michele began her training as a goldsmith in Kilkenny, completing with distinction the Design and Crafts Council Degree course in Fine Jewelry and Design.

While building a successful business making unique bespoke pieces showcasing high craftsmanship, Michele has also continued studying engraving, patination and gemology within the trade. Michele also studied the history of art and architecture, economics, political science and sociology at Trinity College, Dublin. Michele’s first gallery exhibition, “Vespertine” acknowledged the archaeological depth of jewelry as an expression of destiny, love, the ties that bind, strength, and a visible interpretation of intangible feelings.

Over 25 years she has completed many private commissions, gallery exhibitions and retail showcase exhibitions, running in conjunction with a commercially based website. Michele is also a passionate advocate for women in metalwork and economically marginalized young adults. Michele is amongst a growing number of skilled artisans working in Ireland to provide an alternative education system which is inclusive of the alternative mind by providing a qualification system which is treated as equal to the present academic system.
