Grassroots & Social Reform

Miarri Phillips is a graduate of the University of Colorado Denver, where she studied sociology. A passionate advocate for social justice, she is committed to driving meaningful change and uplifting the voices of others.

Originally from Rochester, New York, and now based in Denver, Phillips has held leadership roles that emphasize active citizenship and civic engagement.

She has served as a Teaching Assistant and Cohort Coordinator for a leadership program, Outreach and Engagement Chair for Millennials 4 Environmental Justice, and a Cities United Fellow, taking a public health approach to addressing gun violence. Her experience also includes serving as a Teaching Fellow with Generation Teach, where she taught environmental law, and as a CivicSpark Fellow with the City and County of Broomfield, advancing sustainability communications.

Her love for the outdoors—hiking, biking, and zip-lining—inspired the creation of Green Goddess, an initiative that provides girls of color with equitable and inclusive outdoor experiences. Through this work, Phillips seeks to help young women of color build identity, purpose, and community, while addressing the systemic barriers they face.
