Marília Moreira is director of operations and technology at the AzMina Institute, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting gender equality in Brazil since 2015 through a fusion of communication, technology, and education. Marília firmly believes in the transformative power of quality information, viewing it as a tool that can save lives. She advocates for communication as a fundamental right, enabling access to full citizenship.

For two years, she served as the project manager for “PenhaS“, an application developed by the AzMina Institute to address gender-based violence. The app has already assisted over 15,000 Brazilian women across the country. With a decade of experience in journalism in Brazil, Marília has contributed to several prestigious newspapers in her hometown, Salvador. She holds a master’s degree in contemporary communication and culture from the Federal University of Bahia.
