As co-founder and CEO of the National Association against Human Trafficking in the Society (ANTHUS A.C.), Mariana Wenzel González is able to follow her passion for the fight against human trafficking and skillfully apply her professional social marketing skills to raise awareness about the issue. In addition to projects aimed at the prevention of human trafficking through education and awareness raising, ANTHUS A.C. operates a safe house for victims and survivors of human trafficking.

In addition to Mexico City’s own red light district, Ms. Wenzel has conducted extensive fieldwork in the Philippines, Thailand, South Africa, and Ukraine. Ms. Wenzel studied primarily in Mexico, but also participated in exchange programs in Austria, Germany, and Italy, and Australia. Through these experiences, Ms. González has developed a love for travel and has an affinity for learning about different cultures, languages, and people.
