A 19-year-old youth activist for Indigenous rights, and a person with disabilities, Maria Alice lives in the city of Recife. She is a poet and singer, passionate about peripheral art. She founded coletivoartenafavela [Favela Art Collective] and other community-based social projects. She has been a member of the UNICEF Brazil advisory board since she was a child and is currently studying Occupational Therapy at UFPE.

Maria Alice De Melo Silva Melo é jovem ativista pela causa indígena, PCD, tem 19 anos e mora no Recife. É poeta, cantora e apaixonada pela arte periférica. Criou o projeto coletivoartenafavela e outros projetos sociais dentro da comunidade. Desde pequena, é conselheira consultiva do UNICEF Brasil. Hoje, estuda Terapia Ocupacional na UFPE.
