Seeds & Stories is a social enterprise founded by Margarida Vasconcelos to empower women artisans in rural Uganda through circular fashion and capacity-building programs. This work is done by creating unique, stylish, and timeless handbags and shoes in harmony with nature for women who want to make a difference.

Margarida Vasconcelos is a women’s rights advocate. She has a background in law and more than 20 years of professional experience in civic, social, and international organizations. Determined to live a purposeful life and to make the world a better place, Margarida left her work as a political researcher in Westminster to follow her passions. Seeds & Stories combines her passion for women’s empowerment, craft making, and regenerative fashion. It allows her to make a real difference for women in rural Uganda, contributing to gender equality, social justice, climate justice, and environmental regeneration.

“As a visionary leader, I empower the Seeds & Stories artisans to apply their traditional craft skills to modern designs and express their creativity to make beautiful, unique products with local natural fibers and dyes and repurposed materials.”
