About Margaret:

Margaret is the Managing Director of Mace Foods Ltd, a company specialized in producing and marketing spices and ethnic foods. Mace Food Ltd produces five varieties of dried hot chilies for domestic and international retail, and the pharmaceutical and food industries. They also produce ethnic and indigenous foods, such as African leafy vegetables that are of high quality and a nutritious option for many consumers who may not be able to access these foods regularly. Mace Foods Ltd is a World Fair Trade Organization certified Fair Trade Company, and is a seed merchant certified by Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Services. Mace Foods Ltd thrives on innovation, being the first in their market to venture into chili production and processing activities on a commercial basis for both the domestic and export market. Margaret has experience in human resource management, strategic planning, production and operations management. In addition to managing Mace Foods Ltd, Margaret is also the director of Nuru Wellness Center, a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center. Mace Foods Ltd is a member of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Africa Agribusiness Academy, and Kenya Association of Manufacturers. Margaret attended the United States International University for Entrepreneurship and was also honored with the 10,000 Women in Business Goldman Sachs Award.

What Margaret hopes to gain from the VV GROW Fellowship:

Margaret is looking forward to learning through mentors, research, and networking. She would also like to strengthen her human resource management skills, specifically how to recruit and retain the best possible team. Additionally, she would like to learn how to motivate her team and increase their efficiency.

What Margaret can offer other fellows:

Margaret is willing to share her experiences in detail and to host other fellows. She also hopes to inspire other fellows and individuals that she encounters through participating in the program.
