About Lightness

Lightness is the CEO of Dream Developers Limited, a bee farm and producer of bee products in Tanzania. Through its operations, Dream Developers has designed a program to improve bee production in Tanzania through the manufacturing of high quality, competitively priced and nutritious bee honey. This program also works towards poverty alleviation in her community and improving people’s standard of living by advocating for eating healthy bee products, job creation and increased household incomes. Dream Developers plans to establish an ultra-modern high technology bee products manufacturing plant in Tanzania. To achieve the level of bee products production they aim for with this project, the company plans to work the government to access and utilize land in National forests in addition to their own farm lands across the country. This project will establish 300 hives at the start. Lightness holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Dar es Salaam and an advanced Diploma in Facility Management from Leeds Metropolitan United Kingdom. Her expertise includes strategic planning and execution, marketing, accounting and management.

What Lightness hopes to gain from the VV GROW Fellowship:

Lightness is excited to receive more training on management and finance and looks forward to developing new ideas about how to grow her business. She additionally hopes to connect with other fellows.

What Lightness can offer other fellows:

Lightness can share her experiences with other fellows. If possible, she wants to train and partner with women in different regions of the world to scale her business while empowering women.
