Hon. Laura Golakeh is the Deputy Minister for Gender at the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, a position she has held since February 2024. She is a passionate advocate for gender equality, women’s empowerment and social inclusion in Liberia. In her role, she provides strategic leadership and technical oversight for national programs and policies that advance the rights and well-being of women, girls and vulnerable populations.

With extensive experience in gender programming, policy development and stakeholder engagement, Laura has represented Liberia at national, regional and international forums, including the Commission on the Status of Women and high-level discussions on Women, Peace and Security. She is committed to promoting inclusive development, strengthening protection systems and advancing women’s leadership in peace building and governance.

Also a lawyer and faith leader, Laura continues to champion initiatives that foster equity, empowerment and sustainable social transformation across Liberia.
