Focus Areas
Laura Califano is a researcher at the National Institute of Agricultural Technology, whose mission is to drive innovation and promote sustainable development in Argentina’s agricultural, food, and agro-industrial sectors. The main goal is to achieve a competitive, inclusive, equitable, and environmentally respectful sector adapted to regional contexts. She focuses on research, knowledge transfer, and networks for collaboration, encouraging the participation of women and youth in rural development.
With 16 years of experience in project management and technical support to communities in Argentina’s Northern Andean region, she has worked in rural extension, natural resource management, and endogenous development, as well as projects empowering rural women. She holds a degree in Natural Resources Engineering, a PhD in the same field, and a Master’s in Rural Development in Arid and Semi-Arid Regions.
