Kholoud Wattar Kassem has been the Founder and President of the political NGO Lebanese Women Towards Decision Making since 2017, and has served as the Founder and President for the social NGO Mothers From Lebanon since 2008.

Prior to these positions, Kholoud was the MENA Coordinator of Women in Parliaments’ Global Forum from 2014 to 2016 and the senior advisor at Women Political Leaders’ Global Forum from 2016 to 2018. She is also the Former General Manager of the Beirut Marathon Association.

Kholoud was a candidate for Parliament in 2013, 2014 and again in 2018. She was a speaker at the European Parliament on Violence Against Women in 2018 and at the Parliament of Albania on Violence Against Women and Women as Decision Makers. She also organized one of the Women in Parliaments’ Global Forum (WIP) Summits in Jordan under the patronage of King Abdullah in 2016.

Kholoud has a Master’s Degree in political sociology and is a member of the American Anti-Corruption Association. She is also a council member of the Worldwide Alumni Association of the American University of Beirut (WAAAUB). In addition, she has published two books on politics, including one titled Women and Politics in Lebanon.

 

She was selected as a Fellow for the 2019-2020 VV Engage Cohort.
