Jessica Musila is the Executive Director of Mzalendo Trust, a non-partisan watchdog organization in Kenya that aims to facilitate public participation in parliamentary processes through information sharing, research and networking. She has spearheaded the site’s evolution since 2011 and has overseen its institutional development from 2013. She is a Communication Specialist and Policy Analyst with over 15 years of experience in the governance, development and humanitarian sectors.

Jessica has previously worked for the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) among others. Presently, Jessica volunteers on the Governance Committee of the Ethical Leadership Network (ELNET) and co-hosts the bimonthly Civil Society Dialogues at the Goethe Institute in Nairobi. She has policy research interests in public participation in governance, anti-corruption, social economic development issues, natural resources governance and church engagement in social justice.

She has a in B.A. in Communication and Community Development from Daystar University and a Masters of Public Policy (MPP) from University of Erfurt, Germany. Jessica is a member of the Association for Research on Civil Society in Africa (AROCSA), DAAD- African Good Governance Network (AGGN) and is also a Toastmaster.
