About Jennyfer

Jennyfer is the Founder and CEO of Soft Power Connections Consulting, a consulting company that helps governments and companies expand their businesses internationally by providing services including Market Intelligence, (market research, business plan development, market access and entry strategies, competitive environment, trends & perspectives analysis, international networking and softlanding services); Business Development (start-up support, business management services, negotiation support and representation, international trade); Innovation Strategies (Adaptation of products, services and business models to new markets; networking with I+R+D centers; identification of strategic partners and technological gaps; organization of trade, technological and innovation missions; business acceleration courses in partnership with Tel Aviv University and Israel ecosystem); and Marketing & Communication services (campaigns and promotional events; seminars, workshops and other dissemination activities; strategic communication, brand positioning, content creation). Jennyfer began her career as a journalist at a prominent Chilean TV station and newspaper and other media outlets in Latin American and Europe. She has interviewed global leaders including Mikhail Gorbachov, Mario Vargas Llosa, Yitzhak Shamir and Shimon Peres. In the late 1990’s, she worked as a Press and Cultural Attaché at the Chilean Embassy in Peru, focusing on public diplomacy, international communication and marketing. Currently, Jennyfer also directs OF Magazine, which is distributed in 45 countries to CEOs of logistics, transport, cellulose and paper companies and others. She is a frequent contributor for TV Meganoticias Plus Prime and Radio Infinita, the largest media consortium in South America since its launch in 2019.

 

In addition, to running Soft Power and her journalism work, Jennyfer has worked in public policy for more than 20 years and has focused on public diplomacy, country brand and international promotion of exports, tourism and investment, and has developed promotional activities in more than 35 countries. As the Assistant Director of ProChile, the Chilean promotion bureau, she created the Chile Week initiatives that gather private-sector and public representatives in unique multi-sectoral events that have been held in China, the United States and many other countries. She also designed a program to increase women’s participation in international trade and developed the innovation department to accelerate startups and expose entrepreneurs to international networks. Jennyfer has worked on policy and international promotion by advising companies, NGOs and governments and taught and lectured at universities internationally. She has degrees in innovation, creativity, macroeconomics and international relations. She is a Thompson Reuters Foundation fellow and she participated in Vital Voices Engage in 2019. Jennyfer additionally serves as mentor in StartUp Chile, a leading accelerator in Latin America and was included in the first directory of women business owners prepared by Chile’s government in 2018.

What Jennyfer hopes to gain from the VV GROW Fellowship:

Jennyfer hopes to improve her skills in strategic planning for sustainable business growth. She also wants to improve her skills to make the company stronger, to lead her team and create greater value. Jennyfer is also looking forward to expanding her network and contacts in the mining, food tech, technology and innovation sectors.
