Isabella Ribeiro Barbosa, daughter of Elisângela, was born and raised in Rondônia, in the heart of the Amazon. From an early age, she was inspired by her mother’s determination, who fought day and night to ensure that Isabella had a good education and opportunities that many girls in the region did not have. With this encouragement, Isabella excelled in high school, participating in research groups and developing a deep connection with the forest that surrounds her. Today, with a degree in Forest Engineering, Isabella works as an environmental agent at the Jaru Biological Reserve and as a community outreach worker for the Comunidades Fortes (Strong Communities) project. She is dedicated to working with traditional communities, to promote female entrepreneurship and environmental conservation. Founder of Coletivo Toque Amazônico (Amazonian Touch Collective), she trains women to turn forest resources into a sustainable source of income, for instance, by producing handcrafted candles and extracting natural oils. She is also a partner of Saboaria Rondônia (Rondônia Soapery), where she carried out a forest inventory of the buriti palms used as raw materials, strengthening the local economy. Her passion for the Amazon, women’s empowerment, and climate action reflects a deeply personal mission: to honour her mother’s legacy by helping other girls transform their lives beneath the forest canopy.

Isabella Ribeiro Barbosa, filha de Elisângela, nasceu e foi criada em Rondônia, no coração da Amazônia. Desde cedo, ela foi inspirada pela determinação de sua mãe, que lutou de sol a sol para garantir que Isabella tivesse uma boa educação e oportunidades que muitas meninas da região não tiveram. Com esse incentivo, Isabella se destacou ainda no ensino médio, participando de grupos de pesquisa e desenvolvendo uma conexão profunda com a floresta que a rodeia. Hoje, formada em Engenharia Florestal, atuando como agente ambiental da Reserva Biológica do Jaru, e sendo extensionista do projeto Comunidades Fortes, Isabella se dedica a trabalhar com comunidades tradicionais, com objetivo de promover o empreendedorismo feminino e a preservação ambiental. Fundadora do Coletivo Toque Amazônico, ela capacita mulheres a transformar os recursos da floresta em fonte de renda sustentável, como na produção de velas artesanais e extração de óleos. Além disso, é parceira da Saboaria Rondônia, onde realizou o inventário florestal dos buritizais usados como insumos, fortalecendo a economia local. Sua paixão pela Amazônia, pelo empoderamento feminino e pela ação climática reflete sua missão pessoal: levar adiante o legado de sua mãe, ajudando outras meninas a também transformarem suas vidas sob a sombra da floresta.
